Volker Schilling is the founder and a Member of the Board of Directors at Greiff capital management AG. As CEO he is responsible for public relations and internal audit. Before founding Greiff he was Chairman at Performance AG in Mannheim, which he founded in 1994 and directed until his departure in 2004. Between 1992 and 1994 he worked for Deutsche Bank AG in Munich. Since 1998 he has been a sought-after expert and regular guest and for television broadcasters (n-tv, Bloomberg, ARD Börse), radio stations (H1 Info, Deutschlandfunk, Börsenradio) and print media (Capital, Börse online, Financial Times, Die Welt).
Udo Wedler is a Member of the Board of Directors at Greiff capital management AG. As CSO he is responsible for sales and marketing. Graduated in Banking Services and Operations he has more than thirty years of experience in the German financial sector. After positions at HypoVereinsbank, Union Investment and Ceros Vermögensverwaltung, he set up the fund trading platform “Metzler Fund Xchange” for the private bank Metzler. Since 2010, he has been the owner of F.U.X. Asset Manager Manufaktur. In 2012 he set up the PARAGON fund with Tarek Saffaf and Tungsten Capital, before transferring it to Greiff capital management AG in May 2016. In 2017 he set up the Dreisam Income Fund.
Frank Termathe is a Member of the Board of Directors at Greiff capital management AG. As CIO he is responsible for our strategic orientation in asset management. He began his career in 1982 at Volksbank, Bocholt. In 1992, he managed his first fund within the asset management subsidiary of BfG Bank. As Head of Asset Management at Westfalenbank AG, Bochum and as Head of Wealth Management with BHF Bank AG in Frankfurt, he was responsible for capital market strategy and fund selection. During his time at BHF Bank AG he also managed the "Navigator" fund of funds of the subsidiary “Frankfurt Trust”, which received numerous fund awards during this time. While he was the CIO of BHF Bank AG, he and his team were responsible for 8 bn. Swiss Francs. Finally, he sginificantly contributed to the launch and development of Rhein Asset Management AG S.A., until he joined Greiff capital management AG.
Robert Habatsch is a Member of the Board of Directors at Greiff capital management AG. As COO he is responsible for our internal procedures and the strategic orientation of our fund of funds management. After his first positions in the banking sector, Robert Habatsch joined Greiff capital management AG in 2006 and took on various areas of responsibility over the years, including the analysis and integration of alternative UCITS strategies in the fund of funds range. Together with Michael Bohn, he represents the editorial team of “Der Fonds Analyst”.
Edgar Mitternacht is the founder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Greiff capital management AG. Previously he was the executive partner of the private wealth management firm Dr. Wiek, Mitternacht & Co. GmbH, headquartered in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe. Prior to that, he worked for a mutual savings bank, where he set up the Securities Department, before advising high net worth individuals at Hypo Capital Management AG. Along with writing many articles for diverse publications, he is the co-author of the book “Mehr Gewinn durch strategische Vermögensplanung” (More profit through strategic asset planning) and is also a source of ideas for the Greiff capital management AG publication “Der Fonds Analyst”.
Donikë Shashivari is currently studying Business Management, majoring in Financial Services, at DHBW Lörrach and is completing her Bachelor's degree at Greiff capital management AG. This gives her the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge she gained at university in Greiff capital management AG's practical enviroment. The Greiff Trading Team is supporting her in her practical semester. We are very happy to be able to support her during her training.
Tarek Saffaf, CFA
Tarek Saffaf is the fund manager responsible for the PARAGON UI and Dreisam Income Fund. He has over 10 years of professional experience in portfolio management and before joining Greiff capital management AG was already responsible for various multi-asset and absolute return mandates in several banking institutions and fund boutiques. He has specialised in derivative strategies with non-linear payout characteristics. The investment strategies developed by Tarek Saffaf have been implemented by both institutional and professional clients and have been awarded several times. Tarek Saffaf has a degree in applied mathematics from TU Munich. He is a CFA charter holder.
Sven Meyer has been Head of Marketing at Greiff capital management AG since autumn of 2016. Prior to that, he gained initial experience in the Product Management Department at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. He studied industrial engineering and management in Furtwangen and Edinburgh, and graduated his studies successfully with a double-degree. In addition, he was Founder & CEO of a Fintech start-up, established in 2017, which developed a learning platform for financial training. The company’s goal was to disseminate financial knowledge to the German population.
Patrick Geppert is responsible for the Relationship Team. With 25 years of experience in consultancy and management in the insurance and investment branch, he has supported Greiff capital management AG, with a short break, since 2007. Prior to that, he worked for Skandia Lebensversicherungs AG for eight years, ending up as Head of Organisation for the South Germany region. Finally, he supported the introduction of single premium business for the German market for the Germany branch of Aegon.
Christa Mitternacht has worked at Greiff capital management AG as Assistant to the General Management for more than 10 years. She is mainly responsible for Accounting and Invoicing.
Alexandre Wolf is responsible for international institutional clients, with a focus on France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. Alexandre speaks French, German and English. He started his career in the financial sector at Candriam (formerly Dexia Asset Management) in Paris as Institutional Sales Manager, before moving to Ehedge AG in Frankfurt, where he was responsible for international sales for absolute return products. In 2009, he founded an investment boutique in Paris with 2 other partners before being responsible for marketing and business development at Gutenberg Finance in Strasbourg. Alexandre is a qualified German banker and studied Business Management at the University of Strasbourg.
Tobias Müller is responsible for trading at Greiff capital management AG. Prior to that, he worked at Tungsten Capital as a portfolio manager. Tobias worked for 5 years with BBBank, where he was responsible for the strategic equity book and proprietary trading of equities . Prior to that, he worked in equity sales trading at JP Morgan. Tobias is a qualified German banker (Bank-Akademie Frankfurt) and holds a CEFA from the DVFA (German Association for Financial Analysis and Asset Management).
Michael Bohn directs the Fund Analysis and Research Department at Greiff capital management AG and has over 20 years of investment experience, notably in the evaluation of investment funds. Some of the results and findings are available in our proprietary publications. Together with Robert Habatsch, he represents the editorial team of the fortnightly publication "Der Fonds Analyst" and in addition, he supports his colleagues in managing the Greiff fund of funds. Before joining Greiff AG, he worked as an investment advisor for privat and professional clients for an independent asset management company in Freiburg. There he was responsible for the strategic investment decisions within the wealth management mandate and was mainly responsible for product selection.
Markus Merkel has been responsible for risk management and middle office management at Greiff capital management AG since mid-2017. Before joining Greiff capital management AG he worked in fixed income, derivatives and equity trading. Finally, for six years he headed up the Treasury department of one of the biggest German credit unions, where he was responsible for assets of more than three billion euros. He has over 15 years of capital market experience and holds a degree in Business Management and Mathematics.
Rosa Mick is responsible for the office management at Greiff capital management AG. In this field, she has more than 10 years of experience.
Matthias Neymeyer ist Wholesale Relationship Manager bei der Greiff capital management AG und betreut die Region Süddeutschland. Nach seiner Ausbildung zum Finanzassistenten bei der Volksbank Freiburg eG war der Diplom Bankbetriebswirt (ADG) zunächst als Servicekundenberater und nach einem Wechsel zur Volksbank Breisgau Süd eG als Privatkundenberater tätig. Zuletzt agierte Matthias Neymeyer mehr als vier Jahre erfolgreich als Vermögensmanager im Private Banking der Volksbank Breisgau Süd eG.
Sebastian Vásquez is a Portfolio Manager at Greiff capital management AG. Before joining Greiff capital management AG, he gained 3 years of experience in risk management while working at Deloitte & Touche Ltd. Sebastian Vásquez successfully completed his Master’s degree in Economics (majoring in Finance) at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg. Sebastian Vásquez is accredited by EUREX as a derivative trader.
Since June 2017 Max Rapp has worked as a Portfolio Manager in the Portfolio Management and Trading Department. While studying for a B.Sc. in Economics at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau, he gained his first experience in portfolio management and risk management. Finally, he joined Greiff capital management AG, where he worked as an analyst. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Basel. Max Rapp is accredited by EUREX as a derivative trader.
Thomas Faulstroh is Wholesale Relationship Manager at Greiff capital management AG and is responsible for the central region of Germany. He has many years of sales experience in private banking and asset management. As a sales manager with Metzler, he set up the distribution network for the trading platform MFX. At Berenberg Lux Invest, Thomas was head of retail distribution for Germany. In 2012, he defected to Tungsten Capital, when the PARAGON UI fund was launched and in 2016 he joined Greiff capital management AG when the fund was transferred.
Carsten Baukus is Wholesale Relationship Manager at Greiff capital management AG and is responsible for Germany's northern and eastern regions. After a commercial training and completing his law studies, he worked for Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. In 2007, he started his career in the fund distribution industry at the Swiss asset management company Multi-Invest. After that, he defected to Standard Life Germany and by the end of 2017 he worked for Aberdeen Standard Investments.
Werner Lang supports the Research and Analysis Team of the Greiff capital management AG. Since the foundation he is connected very closely to the Greiff AG. In July 2017 he joined our team. With over 25 years of experience at several banks and financial advisors, the qualified german banker and financial planner (HfB) brings valuable skills to our company.
Max Meier has been a part of the Greiff team since 2015. He started as an analyst and later became part of the editorial team of the magazine “Der Fonds Analyst” as an author. In 2018 he became part of the marketing department. Max studies law at the University of Freiburg and is managing his own companies, besides working for Greiff.
Fabian Hoch is studying business administration with a focus on financial services at DHBW Lörrach and is completing his bachelor's degree at Greiff capital management AG. After a successful internship at Greiff AG in 2016, he now has the opportunity to put the knowledge he learned at university into practice with us.
Marc Schnieder is Senior Portfolio Manager at Greiff capital management AG. He has more than 19 years of professional experience in the financial sector, including 12 years in portfolio management for private and institutional investors. Marc Schnieder specializes in quantitative and rule-based investment approaches. He holds an E-MBA from the Hochschule Liechtenstein and a diploma in computer science from the University of Ulm.
